Over the past three years, Focus Autism has provided funding to a variety of organizations dedicated to increasing the awareness of autism, providing services and support to families, and providing training and education to parents, teachers, doctors, and emergency personnel. As we have grown and adapted to this cause, we have started to direct our focus mainly to the cause(s) of autism and chronic illness. As the rates of autism and chronic illness continue to rise, it is important that we determine what has caused this increase, so we can prevent it from happening to future generations of our nation’s children. Aligning with like-minded individuals that are dedicated to this focus is important to our mission.
The Alliance for Natural Health
The Alliance for Natural Health USA (ANH-USA), is part of an international organization dedicated to promoting natural and sustainable health—and, in particular, consumer freedom of choice in healthcare—through good science and good law.
To this end, ANH-USA actively engages in legal initiatives, standing against forces that would limit your access to safe and effective dietary supplements, complementary therapies, and integrative medicines. ANH lobbies Congress and state legislatures, acts as a government watchdog, files comments on proposed rulemakings, and educates the public, the media, and other decision-makers.

Autism Action Network (AAN) is a national 501c4, non-partisan, grassroots, political action organization formed by parents in support of children and adults with autism, vaccine injuries, and neurodevelopmental and communication disorders. ACN is dedicated to advancing public policy issues affecting people with autism and related disorders, protecting their human and civil rights, educating the public and media, supporting candidates sharing our goals in state and federal elections, and holding accountable those in government who do not act in the best interest of people affected by autism and related disorders.

Autism Think Tank NJ
Founded by Dr. Paul Abend, Autism Think Tank NJ is a recognized 501(c)(3) (Non-profit) organization whose mission is to facilitate the medical and psychosocial stabilization of the child and family. Leading experts in autism from renowned teaching hospitals, including Harvard/Massachusetts General Hospital and UCLA, and medical experts collaborate from around the U.S. in a video conference with local physicians and families to develop a cohesive plan of care for individuals with medically complex cases of autism.

CHIP International
Researchers at UConn’s Center for Health, Intervention, and Prevention (CHIP) design, implement, evaluate, and disseminate theory-based, but highly practical, health behavior change interventions for at-risk populations around the world. Much of CHIP’s international work is in the core problem area of HIV/AIDS.
CHIP International has a new line of autism research in Albania focused on screening, diagnosis, and training for parents of young children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). By training individuals to teach children with autism and autism spectrum disorders, their goal is to provide these children with a successful educational experience where they can receive the help they need.
Komo Centre For Understanding Autism
While there is increasing awareness of autism in the industrialized world, this is not the case in developing countries. Autistic children in Uganda face a dearth of educational opportunities and near total ignorance by society about both their disadvantages and their capacities. Parents and family members have nowhere to turn for information and support as they struggle to meet the significant needs of their children. These families often end up isolating themselves and suffering in silence.
In June 2006, Noerine Kaleeba’s daughter, Elizabeth, whose son has autism, established the Komo Centre For Understanding Autism in Entebbe. The school operates on a “mainstreaming model,” with 8 autistic children and 21 non autistic pre-school children whose presence stimulates integration and avoids isolation of autistic kids. The school presently offers the following services :
- A controlled environment where autistic children aged 4-13 years can learn and improve their cognitive, social, emotional, and behavioral skills.
- The opportunity for a small number of non-autistic pre-school children to interact with children with autism, promoting understanding of autism.
- Respite, counseling, and peer support opportunities for parents and siblings.
- Resource centre for parents of autistic children.
In addition, the Centre pursues a determined programme of advocacy to the general public, and in particular to health and education professionals. Last year, in commemoration of the World Autism Day, the Centre’s coordinator and her son Komo, were invited to appear on a talk show where autism was given a face. The Centre also printed 2,000 leaflets to distribute to the general public to increase awareness and understanding of autism and an article appeared in the Daily Monitor and the New Vision (national Ugandan newspapers) describing the Komo Centre’s work.

Midland Foundation
The Midland Foundation raises funds and other resources to support The Midland School and Midland Adult Services.
The Midland School is a New Jersey approved nonprofit school for children with developmental disabilities. Serving approximately 190 students from public school districts throughout northern and central New Jersey, Midland provides a comprehensive special education program serving the individual social, emotional, academic, and career education needs of each of its students.
Midland Adult Services’ goal is to provide services and support across the lifespan that help the people we serve reach their highest level of achievement and become contributing members of their communities. To meet this goal, Midland Adult Services (MAS) was established to provide high quality community housing, job training and placement services, as well as social and recreational experiences to support and enrich the lives of adults with special needs.

My Goal Autism is a non-profit organization providing support for families who are facing autism. There are many complex challenges, from diagnosis, treatment, recovery, and a better quality of life.
My Goal strives to educate and empower families through education, marriage counseling, and advocacy, by supporting a solid family unit as the foundation for recovery. When a child receives an autism diagnosis, My Goal Autism recognizes the burdens placed on the entire family. The National Vaccine Information Center
The National Vaccine Information Center is a non-profit charitable organization dedicated to preventing vaccine injuries and deaths through public education and defending the informed consent ethic.
NVIC launched the vaccine safety and informed consent movement in 1982 and is the oldest and largest organization advocating for the institution of vaccine safety and informed consent protections in public health policies and laws. As an independent clearinghouse for information about diseases and vaccines, NVIC does not advocate for or against the use of vaccines but supports consumers’ right to know and freedom to make voluntary health care choices for themselves and their children.

Parents Of Autistic Children (POAC)
Parents Of Autistic Children (POAC), a nonprofit organization, is the educational leader for the autism community providing more free training than any other organization. Additionally, POAC provides recreational and support services to children with autism and their families. The costs of such services are prohibitive for most families. For this reason, POAC is deeply committed to providing all services at no cost to participants.
The needs of the autism population are ever growing. POAC is dedicated to meeting those needs and is continually expanding to help these children, adults, and their families where they are right now. To date, thousands of parents, teachers, and other service providers have been trained. Law Enforcement Officers and First Responders in every New Jersey county have been trained in autism recognition and response and in at least one case, the training has been life-saving.
POAC has reached out to colleges and universities and provided course work to students studying to be special education teachers. All of this is accomplished without government funding and is done through the generosity of those who contribute to POAC fundraising activities. Making a difference in the lives of children now is at the heart of everything we do at POAC. For the thousands of children with autism who benefit from our services and programs every year, POAC has become a bastion of support and a beacon of hope.

Saxon Road Church, Inc.
New Christian Faith Church, located in Oconee County, GA, established The Focus Autism Foundation Center (May 2013), a subsidiary of the church which educates congregations about various environmental toxic exposures and their relation to autism and other chronic disorders and diseases afflicting children and adults. The church works closely with the scientific community and plays an important role in presenting the science to address important health issues.
