FFH is Proud to Support: Autism Policy Reform Coalition

Proud to Support Series

FFH has been a proud partner with Autism Policy Reform Coalition since 2014.

Studies have shown that the prevalence of children with autism continues to grow at astounding rates. The existing policies, support and spend have not been effective in servicing the needs of the people and their families who are affected by this devastating disease.

The Autism Policy Reform Coalition (APRC) has constituted itself as organizations in service of people with autism who are coming together for the purpose of proposing meaningful legislation that will make a real difference in the lives of those with Autism – their families, physicians, communities, and our nation.

APRC’s mission is to educate public officials and to encourage legislation that will make a measurable difference in the lives of people with autism and their families.

February 17, 2016 Update from ARPC:

WE ARE MAKING A DIFFERENCE!

APRC leaders met with NIEHS Director, Dr. Linda Birnbaum on 2/17/16 to advocate for environmental causation research on regressive autism. Dr. Birnbaum expressed commitment to execute upon the Senate Report that accompanies the 2016 Federal budget under current program announcements.

We encourage investigators to apply for funding. The director strongly supports continued stakeholder involvement through the application process. Proposals are due by August 2016. Please contact APRC for more info on NIEHS Research Grants.

This is the best opportunity we’ve seen since asking our government to spend some of our tax dollars on causation research that will benefit families facing autism. Let’s seize the day and change the direction of the autism epidemic.
