On Saturday, May 21st, about 300 people joined Crim Fitness Foundation’s Community Fun Day at Brownwell/Holmes STEM Academy in Flint, MI. Different stations with the goal of teaching children how to be fit and healthy were scattered all around the entire school, inside and outside.

Flint’s kids learned about healthy diets and exercise through crafts and water distribution/information stations. Different stations taught them to make their own hula hoops out of recycled plastics, paint pots for garden vegetables, and staffers passed around 100 information brochures entitled “A Family’s Guide to the Lead Crisis in Flint, MI”. The day was topped off with face-painting, bubbles, and over 900 free meals distributed with the help of a donation from FFH!

A lot of families came and took meals to bring home to their families. Some people were crying because they were grateful they found a way to be able to feed their families this week.autism

Big Sean’s Foundation, Sean Anderson Foundation, United Way, Flint Public Library, Genesee Health Plan, and Flint Community Schools also helped make the day a success. Earlier this year FFH teamed up Sean Anderson Foundation (SAF) to contribute to their fundraiser #HealFlintsKids. Big Sean’s Mom, Myra, and SAF’s Rashon Massey presented over $82,000 to Community Foundation of Greater Flint’s “Flint Child Health & Development Fund.” In addition to FFH’s donation, other contributors to #HealFlintsKids were Cleveland Brown’s Wide Receiver Andrew Hawkins, Roc Nation’s DJ Mustard and BOOTS, Comedian Hannibal Buress and the Michigan State University Interfraternity Council.

FFH is proud of the work Crim Fitness Foundation is doing to support the Flint Community.
