Environmental Risks

For the first time in US history, the current generation of children are in worse health and have a shorter life expectancy than the previous generation, experiencing more chronic illness and disability than their parents did at the same age. Children are more vulnerable than adults to environmental risk factors. The most prominent risk factors identified to date fall within the categories of drugs, environmental chemicals, infectious agents, dietary factors, and other physical and psychological stressors.

Focus for Health is committed to responding to this epidemic facing our nation by informing the public about potentially harmful factors in our environment, and by advocating for greater transparency and accountability in government to better protect people of all ages.
